Commissioner William Epps is a former elected Fire Commissioner, federal law enforcement supervisor, author, instructor, and security professional whose career has been built around a single question: what does it take to protect people when it actually matters? Across three decades in public safety and security leadership, he has moved between the fire service, federal law enforcement, and private-sector executive protection, carrying the same standard into every role: knowledge has to be practical enough to use under pressure.

His federal law enforcement career includes seven years of supervisory and operational work in physical security, access control, insider threat mitigation, and executive protection, including support to presidential protective operations. He has held incident command roles at major security events, where disciplined preparation and split-second decisions are what separate a plan that holds from one that fails. That experience now shapes his work as a Fractional Security Director, helping organizations secure senior-level security leadership without the cost of a full-time executive.

Epps has served as a firefighter since 2006 and holds instructor credentials in Hazardous Materials response, Active Shooter preparedness, and Stop the Bleed®, training first responders and civilians to recognize threats and respond with clarity rather than panic. He is a graduate of the FLETC Uniformed Police Training Program, and his emergency management background spans hazmat incidents, mass casualty response, and community preparedness.

As an author, Epps writes practical nonfiction across security, safety and preparedness, leadership, workplace behavior, and biblical and Christian studies.
